I cant stand being in either tho-- too crowded.

I go to Fred Meyers even though they're slightly more expensive because a) they cater to both genders (Target is the most chick store ever, Im sorry) b) the store is huge and includes a grocery story and c) they're open til 11pm daily :) d) their garden section is very large and does not carry virused plants like certain other stores =P

Target can be nice though because it seems that they try to be "more ethical" in their product selection, but the store is built like a hamster house. It is simply too crowded with poor floor planning.XXXX YYYYhttp://jadae.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3591298.post-73882415853259605532007-07-07T11:52:57.000-06:002007-07-07T11:52:57.000-06:00I'm a Target gal as well. :-) But to be perf...I'm a Target gal as well. :-) But to be perfectly honest, Wal-Mart simply embodies a world-wide trend that Target follows lock-step with (only with less effect since they are a lesser company compared to Wal-Mart). It's a dilemma that I really don't see an easy solution to. :-(Meg Dunnhttp://barefootmeg.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3591298.post-65940155104454369212007-07-07T11:19:03.000-06:002007-07-07T11:19:03.000-06:00Thanks for the review. Well, the entire female side of the room was about to castrate that guy. The look in their eyes...oh man lol. Yeah...we didnt get too far with that subject. I guess the logic was Walmart=an option which = a choice which=women having babies and Walmart pay is crap=resposibility= classroom brawl with me watching the circus play out their childish behaviors :P So uh, sorry there wasnt anything better to report lol. I did try to bring up exterior factors but you can see that most of the class was set on their own agenda lol. I think they just used it as an excuse to say what theyve been wanting to say since day 1... kinda like alcohol but a more socially acceptable form lol.XXXX YYYYhttp://jadae.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3591298.post-76537884039812501672005-04-25T10:57:45.000-06:002005-04-25T10:57:45.000-06:00I should have included this quote in the review as...I should have included this quote in the review as well:

“By their very nature as corporate entities, Wal-Mart and its imitators don’t consider their impact on small towns or businesses, don’t consider questions of social responsibility, or under what conditions the goods they sell are made, except to the extent that they are forced to by outside pressure--by their customers.” -- Bob Ortega

and here's one more for good measure:

“Sam Walton noted more than once that a shopkeeper’s success is entirely up to the customer. That’s equally true of a single, small shop on a town square and of a multinational chain with thousands of stores. Whatever the issue--buying American; allowing independent monitors into factories; ending sweatshop conditions and forced and child labor; treating its own workers with dignity and respect; building stores that help rather than hurt a town’s sense of community - Wal-Mart, just like that small shopkeeper, ultimately will respond to what the public demands from it. That is to say, to what you demand from it. It’s up to you.” -- Bob OrtegaMeg Dunnhttp://barefootmeg.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.com
